The sky was clear over the island, completely free from the clouds and the moon shone almost like a second sun accompanied by the lively sparkle of the stars, so that was not to look around even need a light. Juliet lifted her face and let his gaze wander to the big clump of trees that lay beyond the houses and then followed the horizon line to the sea could see that almost breaking gently against the shore.
sighed, squeezing with both hands the cup of hot tea she had brought out and when he looked ahead of him blinked, astonished. "James," he said, as if to be sure that I saw good as he chuckled, and came close to his porch. "Sorry, I did not see it coming."
James had the last few steps that separated him from running and when she finally reached her she leaned against a pillar, looking straight in the eye with a bright smile painted on his lips. "You had your head in the clouds, blonde?"
She smiled back. "It's a bit 'difficult, since that there are no clouds tonight. "
He leaned over the porch and raised his head up, studying the sky just as she had done until a moment before. "You're right," he said. "No clouds. Then what were you thinking? "
Juliet shrugged and raised an eyebrow, glancing defiantly. "How beautiful are the nights like this, with no clouds and the moon so big."
James lowered his head to one side, arms close to his chest: "Why do you say in that tone?"
"Because I want to see if have the courage to ridermi behind. "
He looked at her for a moment and finally let out a short laugh. Juliet lifted the cup to him saying, "See?" And James put his hands up in surrender. "Sorry, sorry! To be honest, though, I laughed for that. "
Juliet brought the cup in his hands, without looking up. "Then why you laughed?"
"Because you said not to."
"funny."
"And," he continued, as if he had not even heard, "because it seems strange that you embarrass a something like this. I mean, it's a fantastic night, because to miss?
She looked at him for a moment with his eyebrows raised and then it was his turn to laugh. "Are you trying to tell me you're the type who sits at the window watching the moon?"
"Every night," he said, so serious that he nearly ran the laughing again. "Really?" He asked, amused and nodded when he moved a bit 'part, leaving more space on the steps. "Then you join me?" He asked, and James did not wait a moment to sit right next to him: "In fact, we counted," he said, while fixing the sweat pants so they will not give him trouble.
For a moment neither spoke, both too busy pretending to be interested in the sky above their heads, and then Juliet turned to look at: "You were doing that?" He asked, just to do a little 'talk and he shrugged his shoulders, staring at the sky. "No big deal."
"You were watching the moon all alone in your room and you went out looking for a little 'company?"
James laughed and finally turned his head in his direction, returning to her eyes. "Yes, Miles is not like these things, a little romantic type." Then he laughed. "Call the jokes, I come now from the control room. It seemed that a hostile had violated the truce and had entered into our perimeter, they sent me a check. "
Juliet frowned, worried. "A Hostile?"
He shook his head. "But I figured. Will was the idiot - you know? - Who had entered the wrong code, and has triggered the alarms. "
Juliet began to laugh softly, taking the cup to his lips to avoid being noticed. "Sorry, must have been a bad night."
James nodded, "You bet." He paused a moment and lifted his eyes again towards the sky, the moon and then, almost without realizing it, his eyes covered with the same route he had followed her shortly before he arrived, stopping to look at the pier on the other side of the creek that now seems to point toward him as a warning finger as if to show him or something.
Juliet watched him in silence and after a little, put a hand on his shoulder. He turned quickly, taken aback. "What?"
She gave a wry smile, returning to his tea. "You had your head in the clouds, blond?"
James hesitated a moment and then, as if he could do, "replied her smile. "It's a bit 'difficult, seeing as I've pointed out there are no clouds tonight."
"Funny," he granted, with a smile. "So what were you thinking?"
James shrugged his shoulders, but hesitated before answering, sighing. "Nothing," he said, after a while ', while his eyes were fixed on her face that she could see distinctly. Could not explain why, but that night was almost more beautiful than it was usual.
Juliet bowed his head to the side and went a bit ', to study its expression. "It's okay, James?"
He shook his head slightly. "All right," murmured Juliet and came up a little more, as if there was something about her face that she had never seen and could not fully understand. He stared long at the bottom, and then saw his eyes shining, and suddenly realized .
"Will you kiss me," she said, quiet and against every expectation he did not move, nor retired but remained exactly where it was, in his eyes.
"Not if you do not want," he replied, calm as she, her voice low and deep that he could almost get you in the blood.
"I want you to kiss me," he said, in turn, closer, and James leaned forward until their lips met halfway.
Juliet raised a hand to his face and he put his fingers through his hair, the neck and held her while his tongue slipped between her lips open. The kiss was warm and enveloping, as it may seem strange to her, it was just . It was just the way their lips met, it was right the way he held her, it was just the feeling of his skin under his fingertips, the ill-shaven beard rubbed against his chin.
When James raised his face to resume air, she looked at him a moment and then, without hesitation, got up, picking up his cup and taking his hand.
"Stay with me," she said, and he got up in turn without stopping to look at it and went into the house when he had the distinct feeling that if he ever did the right thing in his life, was the one. Juliet closed the door behind him and when he launched a last look to the sky's the last thing he saw was the glare of the moon.
